Moudud for judicial probe into edn instts' violence

Moudud Ahmed
BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed on Sunday demanded judicial probe committee to investigate into the violence and criminal activities of Bangladesh Chhatra League at educational institutions across the country.
Terming violence of educational institutions a national crisis, Moudud called upon all political organisations to hold discussion at the national level to resolve the problem.
He said a state of anarchy has been prevailing at all educational institutes as rules of law do not exist anywhere in the country.
Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League activists immerse in violence and criminal activities due to lawless situation in the country, Moudud said.
"Bangladesh Chhatra League means violence," the BNP leader said while delivering a solo lecture at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital.
The lecture on criminal activities in the educational institutions was organised by Mukto Chinta Forum.
"It is normal that the Chhatra League activists would do such activities as their leader does not care insulting respected persons like Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus, journalist ABM Musa, Dr Kamal Hossain and Barrister Rafiqul Haque," he said dropping a hint towards the prime minister.
If Chhatra Sangsad (student's union) election of all universities can be held regularly then unrest and violence will be reduced, the BNP leader hoped.
Moudud alleged that the present government runs many offices by unelected people though it used to say that it would not allow any unelected person to run the caretaker government.
