The visiting Saudi delegation on Thursday called upon Dhaka Metropolitan Police officials to ascertain the motive behind the killing of Saudi embassy official Khalaf Al Ali and arrest the killers as soon as possible.
The 45-year-old embassy official was shot dead some 30 yards off his house in the city's Gulshan early on March 6.
The DMP provided the team as much information as possible without compromising the investigation, said Monirul Islam, deputy commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (South) and also the spokesman for Dhaka Metropolitan Police, on Thursday.
Islam was talking to reporters after the eight-member delegation met with DMP officials to know the progress of the investigation.
The team accompanied by Saudi ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Bin Naser Al-Busairi went to the DMP headquarters around 11:30am and stayed there for nearly two and a half hours.
DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed and high officials of home and foreign ministries were present at the meeting.
The Saudi delegation arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday.
