The country’s premier bourse experienced a jittery trading Thursday
with the general index witnessing ups and downs after two days of
negative trend.
The benchmark general index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DGEN) gained 50 points to reach 5,071 at 1:45pm when this report was filed.
After the market resumed, the DGEN gained 40 points to climb to 5,060 in 10 minutes. But the next 10 minutes saw a plunge of 65 points.
The index again started climbing and started to fall at 11:35am and continued till the noon.
There were two minor fall as the index kept on rising again.
Of the issues traded, prices of 186 issues gained, 42 declined while 18 remained unchanged.
Total 71,913 issues were traded and Tk 295.32 crore changed hands.
On Wednesday, the index shed 105 points to reach 5,020 points.
