Some unidentified miscreants killed one leader of
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) by throwing him from Kin Bridge of Surma
River of the district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Alfu Hasan, 26, son of Khalid Mia, hailed from Kanishail area of Sylhet city. He was a member of Sylhet Metropolitan unit of Chhatra league.
Police recovered him, with smashed head, from the river bank on afternoon.
President of Sylhet Metropolitan Chhatra league Rahat Tarafder told banglanews, “Alfu might be killed in another reason, not over political clash.”
Quoting locals, police said that some four to five unidentified miscreants assaulted Alfu and threw him from the bridge, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police source added.
