Mezbah expresses satisfaction with ICT proceedings

Deputy Registrar of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 Mezbah Uddin Ahmed expressed his satisfaction with tribunal’s activities over trial of war criminals.

He came up with the satisfaction while talking to journalist at a press meet marking the 2nd founding anniversary of the tribunal Sunday.

In a written statement, he said, “We are satisfied with the ICT activities during the last two years. Of the eight convicts, recording deposition against one (Delwar Hossain Sayedee) has been almost completed.”

He added: “The convicts are getting all required legal aids. They have chances to appeal after the trial. One of the accused, Abdul Aleem, got bail on health ground.”

Mezbah said, “On the other hand, former Jamaat Amir Ghulam Azam has been kept in hospital prison cell considering his age. He has been even given permission to have homemade foods.”

In addition, ICT-2 has started its work in the day, he added.
