Villagers’ clash injures 30 in B’baria

At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over land dispute at Durgapur village in Ashuganj upazila on Sunday morning.

The injured were admitted to different hospitals of the upazila and Brahmanbaria General Hospital.

Durgapur Union Parishad chairman Ziaul Haque Master told banglanews, “Relatives of one Monnor Khan engaged in an altercation with the relatives of Mohrom Mia over land dispute during a local arbitration in the morning.”

Centering the argument, the supporters of Monnor Khan and Mohrom Mia locked into clash at about 9am, leaving at least 30 people injured on both sides.

On information, Ashuganj Thana police rushed in and took the situation under control.

Ashuganj Thana OC Abdul Kader told banglanews additional police have been deployed to avert further clash.
