DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is set to hold the hearing on charge framing against former Jamaat Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971 on Tuesday.
On March 7, the three-member tribunal headed by its Chairman Justice Nizamul Haque fixed the date for hearing.
Earlier February 9, tribunal adjourned hearing till March 5, on a petition submitted by Nizami seeking adjournment of the charge framing hearing. On March 05, the tribunal deferred the hearing till March 7.
Earlier January 9, the ICT took into cognizance the formal charges against the former Jamaat Amir.
Nizami was arrested on June 29, 2010 on charges of hurting religious sentiments of Muslims through their blasphemous comments.
